As they grow older, your child will begin to develop skills like crawling, walking, smiling, and waving! These are called developmental milestones.
According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), developmental milestones “are things most children can do by a certain age”. Milestones aren’t necessarily “set in stone”, but are predicted age ranges to expect a certain skill.
Tracking milestones and discussing them with your child’s pediatrician is a great way to stay on top of his or her development, and to identify potential delays that may require additional services for support.
We created a speech & language developmental milestone chart for you to download and share with other parents and caregivers.
